Yellow Breeches Creek
A year-round Cumberland Valley classic with an evening white-fly snowstorm.
The Yellow Breeches runs through the Cumberland Valley and meets the Susquehanna at New Cumberland. The middle reach near Boiling Springs is limestone-influenced, holds wild and stocked brown trout, and fishes year-round.
The river is best known for the Allenberry catch-and-release water and for its prolific White Fly (Ephoron leukon) hatch in August, when an evening dust storm of white mayflies brings the river to a boil.
