Tulpehocken Creek
Eastern PA's tailwater. Caddis blizzards in the spring.
The Tulpehocken — universally called the Tully — flows out of Blue Marsh Lake near Reading, providing eastern Pennsylvania with one of its few cold-water tailwater trout fisheries. The Army Corps releases cold bottom-draw water that keeps roughly 4 miles of stream below the dam fishable year-round.
The fishery is best known for its dense Grannom caddis hatches in late April and a holdover-trout population supplemented by PFBC stocking.
