Lehigh River
Eastern PA's big-river drift-boat trout fishery.
The Lehigh runs from the Pocono plateau south through the Lehigh Gorge and on to its confluence with the Delaware at Easton. The upper river — below Francis E. Walter Dam through the Gorge — is a cold-water release fishery managed in cooperation between the Army Corps, PFBC, and Lehigh River Stocking Association.
It is big water by eastern standards: deep pools, long pocket-water runs, and float fishing from drift boats and rafts. The fishery includes wild and holdover brown trout plus stocking.
