Rush River
A Class I wild-trout creek in the heart of the Wisconsin Driftless.
The Rush River drains the bluff country of western Wisconsin into the Mississippi. The upper river is a Wisconsin DNR Class I trout stream with a strong self-sustaining wild brown trout population.
Public access is via WDNR stream easements — long meadow corridors through private agricultural land. The Kiap-TU-Wish chapter of Trout Unlimited has done decades of restoration work in the drainage.
