Utah
Red-rock tailwaters and Wasatch spring water.
The Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam is one of the most-fished and most-photographed tailwaters in the American West — 8,000+ trout per mile in gin-clear water, with a June cicada hatch that draws anglers from the world over.
Closer to the Wasatch Front, the Middle and Lower Provo are tailwaters below Jordanelle and Deer Creek dams, close to the Wasatch Front. Utah's stream access law does not let anglers walk on a private riverbed without permission, so know where public land is.
