Caney Fork River

Cold tailwater an hour from Nashville.

The Caney Fork runs below the USACE Center Hill Dam in middle Tennessee — roughly 28 miles of cold tailwater before the river warms below the trout zone. It is the closest tailwater trout fishery to Nashville.

TWRA stocks rainbows heavily; brown trout holdover and reach trophy size. The generation schedule from the Army Corps of Engineers determines when the river is fishable.
