Tennessee
Cold tailwaters and Smoky Mountain brook trout.
Tennessee holds one of the densest concentrations of cold tailwater trout fisheries in the country — the South Holston, the Watauga, the Caney Fork, the Clinch, the Hiwassee, the Holston — all created by TVA and USACE bottom-draw dam releases.
The South Holston's year-round Sulphur hatch is unique in American fly fishing. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park holds the southernmost native brook trout population in the country.
