Toccoa River

A Blue Ridge tailwater float through north Georgia.

The Toccoa River runs below TVA's Blue Ridge Dam through the north Georgia mountains before crossing into Tennessee as the Ocoee. The tailwater stretch above the state line is a cold, year-round trout fishery.

Georgia WRD stocks rainbows; wild brown trout reproduce in the upper river and the cooler tributaries. The float from the dam to McCaysville is the signature trip.
