Elk Creek (Centre County)
A limestone-influenced tributary that joins Penns Creek near Coburn in Centre County, providing cold-water refuge and excellent wild trout habitat in the central Pennsylvania limestone belt. Not to be confused with Erie's Elk Creek steelhead stream.
Small-stream tactics — short casts, careful wading, and stealth on glides.
Sulphurs, olives, caddis, midges, scuds, and small terrestrials are dependable.
Confirm public access and current PFBC regulations before fishing; some reaches are on private land.
